Introduction to the Telehealth Center
I. Purpose of Establishment
    The implementation of National Health Insurance has changed the medical behavior of the people in Taiwan, coupled with the advancement of medical science and technology and the improvement of people's income, the average life expectancy of Chinese people has increased year by year, making aging a common social and economic phenomenon in Taiwan. The demand for medical and long-term care services has increased significantly, and the development of "tele-home care" (THC) has become a major planning direction as home-based long-term care services are an important policy for the government to promote "aging in place" for the elderly.

    In recent years, technological medical solutions and medical tools have gradually matured, and personalized telecare has become one of the development trends of future medical care in response to smart health care in the post-pandemic era. Through the "Smart Medical Application", it assists family caregivers in their care ability and quality of life, and can transmit the physical and living information of caregivers at home through telephone and the Internet, so as to enhance the safety of care.
 
    In order to develop telecare, integrate the telecare plan, manpower and resources of all units in the hospital and establish a full range of high-quality medical services. Taichung Veterans General Hospital (hereinafter referred to as the hospital) has set up a task group named "Telehealth Center" to provide remote patient medical needs in real time, effectively transfer hospital care to home care, promote postoperative or home physiological data monitoring, and properly post-hospital care and home medical care, improve the quality and efficiency of medical services, and aiming to promote international medical treatment.


II. Named
      Named "Telehealth Center" (hereinafter referred to as the Center), referred to as THC.

III. Tasks of the Center
        i.     Establish and develop systems and platforms related to telemedicine operations to meet the needs of telecare at home,
               institutions and hospitals, and promote their application.
        ii.    Develop all-round health consultation, telehealth management, teleconsultation and consultation, telehome care and
               other telecare services.
        iii.   Intelligent telecare combined with artificial intelligence, fifth-generation mobile communication technology (5G)
               transmission, digital devices and information and communication technology development.
        iv.   Cross-team integration, software and hardware integration, development of telemedicine research and innovation
               development.
        v.    Other hospitals deliver remote related tasks, etc.
