Introduction

  Taichung Veterans General Hospital Department of Urology is the cornerstone of uro-oncology in Taiwan. Endoscopic and laparoscopic minimally invasive surgeries, as well as kidney transplantation, conducted in our department, are renowned across all medical centers nationwide.

  Since December 2005, when we began implementing Da Vinci robot-assisted surgery, up to April 2023, 3053 cases have been completed. Over the years, through this extensive experience, our surgical techniques and outcomes have conformed to international standards.
Furthermore, the volume of laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries averages between 400-500 cases per month. Our kidney transplantation program stands out both in quality and quantity, setting numerous national records, including ABOi cross-blood type living donor kidney transplantation and cadaveric kidney transplantation.

  In the realm of functional urology, we are pioneers in Taiwan for integrating oncological patients into functional rehabilitation and recovery programs. Additionally, male reproduction and andrology are focal points in both our clinical practice and basic research endeavors.
