Sick Infant Ward

The Sick Baby Room is located on the fifth floor of the Second Medical Building. This ward has 24 beds and provides medical care to premature infants born before 34 weeks of gestation, term infants under four months old, and premature infants with a corrected age of five months or less. The unit provides holistic health care to these infants with admission indications. The Neonatal Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program (NIDCAP) is implemented in the ward. This program includes controlling light and sound, interventions such as touch and positioning, stabilizing the visual, aural, somesthesia, and nervous motion systems of premature infants, encouraging family members to participate in caring for the infants, reducing harmful stimuli, and providing appropriate opportunities for development to achieve integrated infant care. Additionally, a discharge plan is created, and there is a discharge preparation room set up in the unit to provide guidance to family members about home care.
