Tsu-Yi Hsieh is Chief of the Clinical Competence Center at Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) and Executive Coordinator of the TCVGH Evidence-based Medicine Center. Since graduating, Dr Hsieh has risen through the ranks at TCVGH, serving as Resident, Chief Resident and Attending Physician in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology. During this time he has attained Board Certifications from The Society of Internal Medicine, R.O.C, The Rheumatism Association R.O.C., and The Chinese Society of Immunology.

An active clinical researcher, Dr Hsieh has been involved as a co-investigator of numerous trials of pharmacotherapies for osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), lupus and Sjögren syndrome, both in Taiwan as well as global trials including: TARGET study (COX189 for OA cases); Etoricoxib for OA and RA; Myfortic in lupus nephritis; Duroxetin for fibromyalgia; Abatacept for lupus; Rituximab for RA; Golimumab for RA; Ocrelizumab for RA; Abatacept SC for RA; Ultracet for fibromyalgia; and TUNEX for RA. Accordingly, Dr Hsieh has publications to his credit in leading journals in the field including Arthritis Care & Research (Arthritis & Rheumatism), Journal of Rheumatology, Journal of Medical Ultrasound, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Clinical Rheumatology, and Lupus.
