Yi-Ming Chen is Attending Physician in the Division of Allergy, Immunology and Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine, at Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH), Taichung, Taiwan. Concurrently, he is Assistant Professor at Rong Hsing Research Center for Translational Medicine, National Chung Hsing University, Taichung.

Dr Chen earned his MD and PhD from National Yang-Ming University, Taipei. Over his medical career, he has pursued multiple areas of specialized practice, achieving board certifications in Internal Medicine, Gerontology and Geriatrics, Immunology and Rheumatology. Prior to joining TCVGH and progressing to his current position, he was a Research Fellow in Geriatric Medicine at Taipei Veterans General Hospital.

Dr Chen has wide-ranging research interests with a primary focus on the safety of biological therapy for autoimmune diseases, signal transduction in rheumatology, immunology, and geriatric rheumatology. His research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals including Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Rheumatology, and Arthritis & Rheumatology.

Dr Chen has received several awards for his work, including the Outstanding Physician Award from the Veterans Affairs Council R.O.C (Taiwan), Best Young Researcher Award (2010 & 2011) and Best Researcher Award (2014) from TCVGH, and the Young Research Award from the Taiwan Rheumatology Association (2011).
