How to get a COVID-19 Test
  • Who can Apply?
  1. Those who are in quarantine but due to special reasons need to go out with the permission of the local health authority.
  1. Those who have to travel to a foreign country due to emergency.
  1. Those who need it as is requirement by the job.
  1. Businessmen from a foreign country on a short trip intending to shorten the home-isolation period.
  1. Students who intend to study abroad.
  1. Foreigners, people from China, Hong Kong, Macau who want to leave Taiwan.
  1. Family members of the above people.
  1. Others permitted by the Central Epidemic Command Center.
  • Documents required (original copy + a photo copy)
  1. Application form for a COVID-19 test (filled out on the site).
  1. ID (Household certificate, passport, alien resident certificate).
  1. Electronic air tickets, certificate or record of booking tickets.
  1. Documents supporting the application:
    AJob-related documents (employee ID, employee certificate, working visa,
        announcement from the company requiring the test, itinerary in Taiwan,
        anti-covid-19 plan, etc.)
    B. Study-related documents (student ID, student visa, admission letter, etc.)
  • C. Foreign passport or a permission to enter Taiwan.
  • D. Household certificate or household registration transcription for family members.
  • E. Permissions from the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control, local Health Bureau, etc.
  • Making an Appointment Online (required for those who pay at one’s own expense)

      A. A regular test (24 hours in advance):
      B. An expedited test with required documents emailed 2 working days in
           advance  (
  2  Documents listed above must be available before an appointment can be
      completed and 
a sample be taken for the test.
  3. Please come before 9:00 am for an expedited test, and after 10:00 am for
      a regular test (10:00~11:30 for the morning session, 13:30~16:30 for the
      afternoon session).

  4. Only those who are referred by a governmental health institute can walk in
       without an online appointment.

  • Fee
1. Regular test: NT$3,500
2. Expedited test: NT$4,500
including costs for registration, diagnosis, test and report
We take cash or credit cards issued by banks in Taiwan.

  • When and where to pick up the report?
1. A certificate will be provided in Chinese and English for free. NT$200 for each extra copy for those
    who are covered by the National Health Insurance, NT$340 for those who are not covered.
2.Time to pick up the report: 
    Regular test: after 10:40 next day for tests done in the previous day, including morning session and
                           afternoon session.
     16:30 on the same day for an expedited test.

3. IDs required to pick up the report (plus the pick-up request)
the testee the appointed agent
Taiwanese: ID and passport (original copy)
Foreigners: Passport (original copy)
1. the original copy of the testee’s ID
2. the agent’s ID
3. a letter of authorization
4. If a Fit to Fly Certificate is needed after a negative report of Covid-19 is available, please ask the
    worker at the Covid-19 clinic to make an appointment for it at the Quarantine Clinic and pay for it.
  • Notes
1. RT-PCR virus nucleic acid detection method is used in this test.
2. This service only provides At-One’s-Own-Expense test. If you have
     other medical needs, please go to the outpatient or emergency department.
3. The above practices are updated in accordance with the“Regulations
     on Applications for an At-One’s-Own-Expense Test of COVID-19”by
     Taiwan Centers for Disease Control.
