Team Introduction:
Under the guidance of our superintendent, Professor Shih-Ann Chen, the Cardiac Electrophysiology Team in Taichung and Taipei VGH has made an outstanding clinical and academic achievement, while being recognized as one of the most important arrhythmia centers in the world.
In the field of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation, Professor Shih-Ann Chen's team members have performed over 6,000 cases of AF ablation procedures and have discovered numerous novel electrophysiological mechanisms and ablation techniques for AF treatment. The long-term successful rate of our teams regarding AF ablation is higher than that of many well-known international centers. We have also devoted ourselves towards the fields of ventricular arrhythmia, device therapy, artificial intelligence care of arrhythmia and remote arrhythmia managements. Keeping pace with the times, we are always ready to apply the latest technology to different arrhythmia therapeutic areas.
Our certified electrophysiology staff is dedicated to the diagnosis of arrhythmia, while also providing comprehensive evaluations and treatments for patients with arrhythmias. Currently, we perform over 450 arrhythmia procedures per year, including more than 250 catheter ablations and more than 200 device implantations. This high volume of arrhythmia treatments ensures the efficiency and expertise in arrhythmias management in Taiwan. Outstanding Achievements:
Our atrial fibrillation (AF) team has been invited to demonstrate the complex AF ablation procedures for more than 40 patients across 12 countries. The long-term success rate in AF ablation is higher than that of many well-known international centers. Our AF management approach, established by Prof. Shih-Ann Chen, has been certified as the standard protocol in international guidelines on AF management. Our pediatric arrhythmic team is competent in performing non-fluoroscopy catheter ablation in supra-ventricular tachycardia and AF procedures. We have the largest number of patients receiving leadless pacemaker implantation in Taiwan. We provide painless catheter ablation by sedating the patients during the ablation procedure.
