Taichung Veterans General Hospital Showcases Smart Healthcare in the USA at the 2025 Taiwan Expo – Five Innovative Achievements Captivate International Attention
Led by Deputy Superintendent Prof. Yuan-Hwa Chou, Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) participated in the largest-ever USA based Expo, The 2025 Taiwan Expo, recently held in Dallas, Texas. The hospital presented five cutting-edge smart healthcare innovations, including:

- “VeriOsteo OP AI-assisted Screening Software for Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Abnormalities”
- “ ‘’AI tewan” DeepBT Detector+”
- “ ‘’Huede” AI Aided AKI Prediction Software”
- “DermVision AI: AI for skin cancer”
These innovations have highlighted Taiwan’s medical strengths and smart healthcare achievements, thus drawing wide international recognition from the global medical community.
The event attracted an unprecedented lineup of distinguished guests, including Chairman James C. F. Huang of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Director General William Liu of the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Director General Yi Fang Hsiao of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office located in Houston, Texas Ingrid Larson, Director of the American Institute in Taiwan’s Washington Office, Ashok Pinto, Executive Director of Select USA at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson, Texas State Representative Gene Wu, Adriana Cruz, Executive Director of the Office of Economic Development & Tourism in the Texas Governor’s Office, and Arkansas State Representative Mindy McAllenden, among others.
In addition to showcasing smart healthcare solutions, members of TCVGH also hosted health seminars during the exhibition to share their knowledge on medical care and health promotion, receiving an enthusiastic response. Notably, the Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma made a special visit to TCVGH’s booth, expressing great interest in its smart healthcare projects and engaging in in-depth discussions with the team—signaling strong potential for future international collaboration.
Beyond the overwhelming response at the venue, TCVGH was also featured simultaneously by three major Taiwanese community newspapers in North America, further enhancing the hospital’s visibility and demonstrating the international competitiveness of Taiwan’s medical technology. Looking ahead, Taichung Veterans General Hospital will continue to advance healthcare internationalization, while also strengthening cross-border exchanges and cooperation as it steadfastly remains committed to becoming a key contributor to both global health care and the well-being of all.

Prof. Cheng-Hung Lee delivered a health care lecture titled, “Myths and Challenges of Cardiovascular Diseases in Chinese Populations.”

Dr. Han-Ting Shih delivered a health care lecture titled,“World-Class Orthopedic Care in Our Hometown – Entering a New Era of Smart Healthcare and Robotic Surgery at Taichung Veterans General Hospital.”

Wan-Yun Hsu, Division Director of the International Medical Service Center at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, delivered a health care lecture titled, “Health Without Boundaries – From Health Checkups to International Medical Care.”
