On October 5, 2025, Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) welcomed delegations from the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech)and National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) in Taiwan, as well as representatives from the Embassy of Saudi Arabia. The local delegation was led by NCHU Vice President Dr. Chih-Chung Chou, accompanied by distinguished guests Dr. Hussain Al Salmi from GUtech and His Excellency Mr. Sheng-Ping Deng, Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
TCVGH was represented by Deputy Superintendent Dr. Yuan-Hua Chou, while Superintendent Dr. Yun-Ching Fu hosted a welcome banquet in honor of the visiting guests. Following the banquet,
The two sides held in-depth discussions on medical education, smart healthcare, and international cooperation. They also exchanged views on topics such as medical research, clinical internships, telemedicine, and smart health innovation.
Dr. Hussain Al Salmi remarked that TCVGH’s balanced development of smart medicine and humanistic care serves as a significant inspiration for both healthcare education and technological transformation in the Oman region. Ambassador Sheng-Ping Teng also praised TCVGH’s professional medical standards and achievements in international collaboration, expressing hope for closer medical and academic exchanges between Taiwan and the Middle East in the future.
