Whole Genome Sequencing and Precision Medicine Data Integration
The Precision Medicine Center at Taichung Veterans General Hospital actively advances precision medicine through large-scale data integration. Through participation in the Taiwan Precision Medicine Initiative (TPMI), led by Academia Sinica, the Center has established a genomic and clinical database of over 70,000 participants. Based on this resource, the Center has produced numerous international publications, including two studies published in Nature in 2025, demonstrating strong research capability. Building on this foundation, a hospital-wide Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) program was launched in May 2025, with a target of 20,000 cases within five years. By integrating multi-omics and artificial intelligence, the program enhances precision diagnosis and translational applications.
