Taichung Veterans General Hospital Expands to the U.S. East Coast! Grand Launch of the TCVGH International Medical Telehealth Service Center, Bringing Taiwan Healthcare Closer to Overseas Communities
On August 22, Deputy Superintendent Prof. Yuan-Hwa Chou led a medical team from Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) to New York, where the hospital signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women of New Jersey and New York Chapter- , as well as the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce of New York and New Jersey. The agreements aim to promote medical resource sharing and telemedicine collaboration. On the same day, the grand inauguration of the “TCVGH International Medical Telehealth Service Center” in the U.S. East Coast took place, marking an important milestone in TCVGH’s global healthcare network.
A Milestone in Taiwan–U.S. Healthcare Collaboration
The signing ceremony was graced by Ambassador Tom Chih-Chiang Lee, Director-General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in New York, who personally witnessed the event. In his remarks, Ambassador Lee highly commended TCVGH for its continuous commitment to advancing international healthcare and expressed heartfelt concern and support for the health and well-being of overseas Taiwanese communities.

The event drew more than 300 enthusiastic attendees from the overseas Taiwanese community. A wide range of engaging and practical health seminars were held, including:

During the visit, the medical delegation also toured world-renowned U.S. medical institutions, including The Mount Sinai Hospital, North Shore University Hospital, and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. The team engaged in exchanges on clinical practices and healthcare systems, gaining valuable insights into the latest trends in specialty care and medical technology applications in the U.S., laying a solid foundation for future cross-border collaboration.
Bringing Taiwan’s Healthcare to the World
Deputy Superintendent Prof. Yuan-Hwa Chou emphasized that this trip not only built a stronger bridge for Taiwan–U.S. medical cooperation but also showcased Taiwan’s professional medical capabilities and compassionate care. Looking ahead, TCVGH will continue to expand international medical partnerships, bringing high-quality healthcare from Taiwan to the world and serving as a strong health guardian for both overseas Taiwanese and international friends.
