Internal medicine is the foundation of medical science. Thanks to the great contributions of previous chairmen, the Department of Internal Medicine has continued to advance and expand since its establishment in 1982. Presently there are 10 divisions including Chest Medicine, Respiratory Therapy, Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Infectious Disease, Hematology, Endocrinology & Metabolism, and the Intensive Care Unit.
The Department of Internal Medicine is highly committed to medical care, research and teaching with emphasis in particular on patient-centered total care and learner-centered teaching. We are proud of providing one of the best post-graduate training programs (PGY) and under-graduate training programs (UGY) in Taiwan that appeal to many medical students and graduates.
With newer diagnostic technology and regimens being developed each year to ensure high quality of patients care, we strive to create an environment in which patient-centered care is key in daily practice.
