Day Care center for the Older People with dementia and disability

In view that some of the old ones may get disabled, and need care services, Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) complies with the long-term care policies proposed by the nation and Veterans Affairs Council, providing a comprehensive care for patients, ranging from discharge care planning, medical home service, long term care services in the community. It is reported that in adult day care centers by the professionally licensed team who perform a series of comprehensive health screenings, and individualized care plans, the old people’s health and independence can be promoted and preserved. Based on this, TCVGH affiliated Day Care Center was set up, and began to supply service for the older people since 30-January, 2018. According to regulations of the government, the TCVGH Day Care Center can l provide a maximal service for 20 people with dementia and disability. It is aimed that day care service offers comprehensive programs specially tailored to the older adults and their physical and cognitive health can be either maintained longer or declined slowly. Besides the life quality of life in the older people and their family can be improved.
