The various DCS programs were run by the designers with assistance from formal care giver in the day care center, and every activity was provided for the participants together. In the adult day care center, we provide with multiple domain interventions and activities to the old people with physical disability and cognitive disorders, including health exercise, entertained music and art games, and gardening and the other group activities with which the old people interact with each other and the staffs. The program activities include: Reminiscence therapy with group leader presenting some pictures that would stimulate the elders’ memories, and then listened as the participants talked about them; Exercise therapy with patients performing resistance and stretching movements per week; Cognitive occupational therapy with patients naming various different objects, and were taught the appropriate use of different tools, etc; Art therapy with encouraging patient to use the fine muscles of the hand to draw; Horticultural therapy consisting of planting plants and creating flower-based decorations; Music therapy with participants encouraged to express themselves musically by singing folk songs or other popular songs. At the end of the day, they return home with the daily record for the family.Besides, the TCVGH Day Care Center will also regularly arrange some programs for the family and education activities for training medical staff and cooperate with the schools to cultivate talents in the students and study for improving long term care quality.
