CCU is established for patients who are suffering from severe heart conditions that require close monitor and treatments. Since cardiac condition for critical patients can change tremendously in a split of a second, it is hard for the general ward and medical staffs to handle these patients. Our Cardiac Care Unit provides modern electronic monitoring systems and focus on the latest medical equipment with professional, experienced medical staffs. They provide the most professional care in the most rapid ways and give precise diagnoses and treatments with no delay. With the gather of latest techniques and the most experienced doctors, CCU is designed to save patients' lives.
 

Organization and responsibilities


(A) Overview
This center was established in 1996, directly under Cardiovascular Center. Cardiovascular Center is currently managed by Chief doctor, Ting, along with two cardiac specialists, one respiratory specialist, one full-time pharmacist, one nutritionist, three residents from the Internal Medicine, 32 ICU nurses who have more then 2 years of experience with license of ACLS from the Department of Nursing, and one historian. This center is equipped with 16 beds providing special care for severe heart disease patients. CCU provides physiological monitoring, respiratory aids, stand-by electric shocks, blood gas analyzer, multifunctional color ultrasound, X-ray machines, and micro-injection controller equipment which patients can be observed at any time and be given rescue and treatments. Other services include training of interns, residents, specialized doctors, nurses and medical research program.
 

(B) Personnel and duty
Department chief, doctor Wang directs all medical, administrative, and academic research in the cardiovascular center. There are also two specialized doctors under the guidance of doctor Ding for medical and academic research and development. A full-time doctor specialized in respiratory therapy is in charge of evaluation and the usage of respirators. Medical residents and interns who are assigned by internal medicine department live in dormitory center where close to assist patients with medical work. Cardiovascular department includes one chief nurse and one deputy chief nurse, 32 nurses and in term of three shifts. In general, every nurse is responsible for two to three patients, depending on different circumstances department of nurse will rearrange nursing unit care. Cardiovascular department also include two administrative assistant workers. Cardiovascular department has our own specialized pharmacist assisting prescription drug audit. A full-time nutritionist help assess nutritional status of patients with eating conditioning. Patient service and families reception will be supported by social workers.
