Supervising and directing the following responsibilities carried out by the 5 sections of the Department: 
  1. Applications for reimbursement from the Health Promotion Administration and other institutes.
  2. Implementation and announcement of health insurance policies.
  3. Management of medical records (including electronic medical records).
  4. Management of registration, admission, charges, debts, coordination between outpatient services, admission services, emergency services, etc.
  5. Analysis and calculation of employees work bonus, coordination between the main hospital and 2 branch hospitals.
  6. Internal control, crisis management, knowledge management (including compiling a history of the hospital), future planning and implementation strategy .
In addition, the following responsibilities are carried out by the departmental office:
  1. Providing statistics of medical services to related institutes.
  2. Introducing a medical information system at Taichung Veterans General Hospital into 12 branch hospitals.
  3. Reporting to the Veterans Affairs Commission of the hospital' performance.
  4. Implementing classified medical care at this hospital.
  5. Planning and implementing training programs of interns.
  6. Following up important findings of satisfaction surveys of the hospital.

Supervising and directing implementation of the following responsibilities:
  1. Registration, admission, charges of medical fees.
  2. Communication with the Health Bureau of Taichung City Government, the Veterans Affairs Council and other institutes for related business.
  3. Coordination and management of clinic sessions, Customer Services Center and Admission Services Center.
  4. Bed allocation and management.
  5. Coordination and management of referred patients, tests and examinations.
  6. Assessment of injuries (assigned by a forensic institute).
  7. Supervising of outsourced mortuary business.
  8. Collection of debts owed to the hospital.

Responsibilities of the section of performance management encompass management of the performance bonus system, integration of the veteran's system in the central district, medical support and cooperation, precious medical equipment investment, contracted physician and employee performance evaluation, and projects such as COVID-19.

  1. Interaction with the Veterans Affairs Council regarding the yearly performance evaluation by the VAC and other affairs.
  2. Holding monthly intramural meetings.

  4. Coordination of assessing medical disputes referred by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
  5. Offering legal consultation.
  6. Organizing hospital accreditation by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (the management section).
  7. Implementation of projects of hospital management including knowledge management, crisis management.
  8. Applying for the Government Service Quality Award (every 3 years).
  9. Compiling the history and credits of the hospital.
  10. Holding evaluation of departmental meeting records, departmental yearly report.
